iMainGO X Speaker & Case Review

Small system, HUGE SOUNDS! That’s the official slogan for the iMaingo X, a portable speaker for your media devices and even electric guitar. Also marketed as a case protector for your mini media player(specifically iPhone, iPod) with the look of a retro cassette cartridge. Lets list off the features of this nifty little device.

Now the big question, does it work as good as it sounds? After playing with the device for a few days, I can definitely say I enjoyed the ability of sharing my latest tunes at the click of a button with my surrounding counter-parts whether they were willing or not to listen. The 37mm speakers does a good job of releasing audio throughout a large room. It may not have been on par with Bose, but for the price ($69.99) we couldn’t complain. We also tested the mic input with a Sennheiser E835 on a converter to use the iMainGo X as a PA system in the office. That did not work as well in audio output quality, but a nice feature to have none the less. Here’ s my first thoughts out of the box.
