How to Root LG Optimus 2X – Complete Tutorial

Rooting is to access the System files. By rooting your LG optimus 2x you can access the System files, Install Custom Rom Files and also install Third Party applications. This will make your Phone more attractive and amazing features. Rooting will neither unlocks your Android phone nor will make Android Market free. It simply allows you to run applications such as Titanium Backup, Shootme etc. as well as uninstall system applications like MediaScape or install system applications such as the updated Gingerbread,YouTube application and many other Applications.

Fortunately, rooting LG Optimus 2x is very simple and is actually one click root. There are two ways by which you can root LG optimus 2X one is using SuperoneClick and the 2nd one is z4root. SuperOneclick is more appropriate and works from PC while Z4root is just a simple Android app installed on Phone.

Download SuperoneClick and extract it.

Put your LG Optimus 2X into “USB Debugging Mode by going into

Applications> Settings > Applications > Development and Check USB debugging

Connect your Phone with Pc Via USB Cable.

Go to extracted SuperoneClick and run SuperOneClick.exe

Just Click on Rooting and you are done. This is the simplest method of rooting LG Optimus 2X

Download Z4root from above links and extract it.

Z4root will be in .Apk format. You can follow our step by step guide to install .Apk files on Android (Posted here)

After installing you will see an icon in Applications

Simple Run it and Click on Permanent Root.

This will automatically root your Optimus 2X.

However, if you face any problem such as stuck at some position, restart your Device and start this application again.

You will see following messages on your screen

“Acquiring root shell…” and “Please wait while root operations complete…”

Don’t do anything at this point.

After successful operation, your phone will be automatically rebooted. And you will see SUPERUSER application under applications.

Viola! You have successfully rooted LG Optimus 2X.
