Looks like an October release for the iPhone 5, no iPad 3 until 2012

It is being reported that the iPhone 5 or 4S, whatever they are going to call it, is now going to be released on October 7th. Previously it was reported that the next generation iPhone would be out on September 7th.

Apple’s next generation iPhone, be it an iterative “iPhone 4S” or a completely revamped “iPhone 5” could go on sale October 7 in the US. That’s a Friday, which isn’t uncommon for iPhone launches. Originally it sounded more like a second week of October launch, more like October 14, but now it sounds like the first week. We’re still hearing that an “iPhone 4S”-style device, with improved processors and optics, is more likely than an all new design, but given the many and varied rumors, it’s impossible to tell for sure. It could even be that the “iPhone 4S” is the budget iPhone Apple supposedly completed work on just before WWDC 2011 (the iPhone nano, so to speak), and the “iPhone 5? is the new high-end model. That could explain the supposedly conflicting rumors.

Looks like it may be the iPhone 4S instead of 5

Sources in Taiwan have been cited by a second investment research firm indicating the iPad 3 will not be out until 2012 and that the next generation iPhone is being referred to as the “4s”.

Pointing to “recent Apple supply chain checks,” FBR Capital Markets analyst Craig Berger said production of the company’s fifth-generation iPhone has come into view for component suppliers “like Broadcom, Qualcomm, and Omnivision,” each of which are indicating “a late September or early October” manufacturing ramp for the handset.

In a note to clients on the matter, Berger identified the new iPhone as going by the code name “N94? and indicated that his sources have referred to the device under the presumed marketing name “iPhone 4S,” which would suggest the handset will arrive as an evolutionary upgrade to the existing iPhone 4 rather than a radical redesign like the ones that took place during the transition from the original iPhone to the iPhone 3G and from the iPhone 3GS to the iPhone 4.

Looks Like Old BlackBerry Handsets Wont Get BlackBerry OS 7

If you’re rockin’ a BlackBerry Torch, Tour, Bold 2 — or really, anything older than the just—announced Bold 9900 and Bold 9300 — we hope you’re nice and comfortable with BlackBerry OS 6. If we’re catching RIM’s drift here at BlackBerry World correctly, that’s where you’re staying.

From what we’re hearing from RIM, only the 9900, 9300, and any devices released thereafter will tote the brand new OS 7. While such things occasionally change with time (be it through a reversal on the company’s part, or clever finagling by the hacker crowds), anyone looking to heed to OS 7's siren songs might be looking at an upgrade. You know what time it is.
